Nikon D60 DSLR Camera

image

We get a lot of questions from clients about cameras (gee, I have no idea why!) and especially lately it seems a lot of our clients are considering moving from point and shoot type digital cameras up to digital SLR cameras. Nikon announced the new D60 model at the PMA show last week to mostly luke-warm reviews and one of the main sources of info I go back to time and time again for the real deal on this type of stuff is Ken Rockwell's site.

Ken is a very experienced photographer and has been maintaining and updating this very useful site for years, mostly at his own expense. He buys all his own equipment, does not receive samples from manufacturers and because of that I feel you get much better content and honest opinions.

His thoughts on the new D60? Pass. Yep, buy a D40 for several hundred less. Read about it here. The other nice thing about his articles is that you can get as much or as little out of them as you want. If you're a camera geek (guilty) and want all the deep technical details, they're in there. But if you're just learning and want the basics without getting bombarded with tech talk, his articles are structured so they can be skimmed quickly and you can take what you want from them.

Hey if you're getting ready to take that next step with your photography hobby, you'll want to bookmark his site and start digging into the material. There's a whole lotta learnin' to be had ;)

And as always, email us any questions you may have, we'll be happy to help too!

Enjoy!

Uh..yeah..I have a question...is it true that "Real Pros shoot Canon"? And that the best camera for portrait & wedding stuff is a Fuji S5? Just what I heard. Please advise. thx!
