My wife's friend Kate asked me if I would take some shots of her and her family because she loves our work (hey now!) and it's been a while since they had any pics done. How can I say no to that? I'm always flattered when people tell us they love our work and then trust us to take family photos of them. It really is an honor and I hope you like the results!
*************************
Hmmm, look up "All-American Girl" in the dictionary and you may just find a picture of Kate! (And I'm not just saying that because she stopped by and bribed me with a bottle of wine tonite! Honest!)
And let's not forget her brother Pete!
And Mom...
And some group shots:
We took these shots at the local high school. It's just a great spot for nice light in the early evening and I though it fit in with the theme of an athletic family. Barb and Kate play softball with my wife; Barb plays shortstop and Kate plays third base...
Mrs. Intensity...yes she plays this hard...and yes she got the out.
And then there's Kate at the "hot corner". It's a lot of fun to watch them play and so cool to see Mom and Daughter side by side like that.
Thanks for the fun shots, guys and I'll be in touch soon!! (And thanks for the bribe Kate even though it wasn't necessary!!)

Kezia and Brett (by Bruce)
As Val already said, Kezia really nailed the details for this wedding. Everything was just beautiful! Here's a few more detail shots to show what we mean...
This wins my "Cake of the Year" award! there were very coarse sugar granules coating the outside that really made it pop. Look how the light from my flash bounced off it! Cool stuff...
Some more details:
Val and I had the privilege of shooting Lisa's wedding last year. Ahhh how time flies. A little over a year ago, here is Kezia and Lisa...
And yesterday...(cool, huh?)
Kezia looked stunning (ok, ok, Brett looked good too!). I'm so glad we were able to get outside at the Water's Edge to get some shots...
As hard as we all tried to wish the rain and wind away, it just didn't work. And sometimes the best shots come when you least expect them...
Kezia and Brett thank you for letting us share your day. You are truly wonderful people and Val and I wish you all the best!

Kezia and Brett
A few shots from yesterday's wedding... Take a look at those flowers! Aren't the gorgeous?? Kezia put so much attention into the details and it was spectacular! It didn't even matter that it rained. It did stop later in the day and we were able to go outside for some shots even though she almost got blown away. I did Kezia and Brett's engagement photos and could wait to see them again, they are such great people. Good luck to them and happiness always! ~ Val
P.S. Got to shoot this wedding with Bruce and we had a blast, always so much fun when we get to do that!
P. S. (another one!) It was also fun to see Lisa and Rich again!! We had shot their wedding at Candlewood Lake a year ago, check out their slide show on the home page. Didn't I say we had the Best couples?? ~ V
Kezia... this one is for you...
I love this shot...
A gorgeous bride...
The bouquet... I have to find out who did the flowers!

Christine and Tony (by Bruce)
Doncha love computers?!?! Wow, what a melt-down I had on my main computer used for editing. As Val mentioned, we backup up everything so no harm done, but I have much less hair than I had last week! So anyway, squared away that issue, ordered a new machine that will be in next week, and awayyy we go!
I'm playing catch up with images I've been meaning to post here on the blog. We hope to get into some sort of a routine with this, but being that it's still a new concept we are trying to work the kinks out. You may see some things posted here that don't necessarily correspond to recent shoots. You may also see things posted here right away because we just can't contain ourselves and have to share!
Way down the bottom of the blog (the very first post actually) is one of Val's shots from Christine and Tony's wedding on August 19th. The wedding was at a small church in Stonington and the reception was at the Seaman's Inne in Mystic. Val and I shot this one together and I wanted to post a few of mine!
********************************************
Christine at the hotel before the wedding. Here's some simple math for ya: Great light + beautiful bride = gorgeous pic! Pretty easy, huh?
The things I do. Mental note: Don't stand under the doves next time, Bruce. Try moving to the side. (Actually no photographers were harmed, or soiled, in the making of this photograph!)
Off to the reception. Cute couple, eh?!?
And this little man is featured prominently in lots of shots. He is a total camera magnet! (Hmmm, she loves me, she loves me not...)
It's hard to miss with backdrops like this. I could have stayed in the seaport for hours taking pics. But there was a reception to get to!
Speaking of which...
Val and I were outside on a, ahem, *break* and one of the bride's maids came outside. She was trying to get this shot of the cake from outside the window with her new camera. So we offered a tip or two and I changed some settings on her camera to help (if I broke anything, please send the bill to The Sweetest Days Photography, ATTN: Val...) So anyway, in case it didn't come out, here ya go!
Christine and Tony thanks so much! You guys were great and I wish you all the best!!

The Sound and The Pond.
Last weekend I was at 2 totally different locations, yet each was spectacular! I'm always amazed when I go to shoot a wedding at how many absolutely beautiful places there are here in New England. The wedding of Phoebe and David took place on the Sound in her mom's backyard and I can't begin to tell you how much I loved that house! So much attention to the tiniest detail, the light was incredible... I could go on and on!
Then the next morning I went down to this little state park near where I live to do some shots of Christopher for the yearbook...okay, I can't believe he's graduating this year, where did all those years go??? But again I was struck by how pretty this area is, that little gems like Hopeville Pond are literally in our backyards and we don't even realize it. ~ Val
P.S. Seems that our blogging site is having some technical difficulties so I couldn't add the pictures to this post right now, I'll try again later. (Don't ya' just love technology??)

(*NOTE: Pics uploaded successfully 1:45 pm, Monday, 9/18/06...pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!!!)

Crash!
So Bruce's computer crashed, big time! Not to worry though, everything we do is backed up...then backed up again. He ordered a new one and should be up and running in about a week. Got us thinking about other ways to back up photographs.... we'll fill you in later on some cool new things we're going to start doing! ~ Val

I have just the absolute BEST couples!! Really!! This weekend I had the privilege to be part of the wedding of Kim and Ken in Mystic... what a wonderful couple!
They have such great friends and families and even Ernesto (the uninvited guest) wasn't a problem. We lucked out and only had the wind, not the rain until after the ceremony. The Seamen's Inne outdid themselves (again!) everything was beautiful!!
