Happy 4th of July!

So this is the way I started my day....

....just lovely! A flat tire on a holiday... but considering it was in my driveway, not so bad. Lots better than having it happen on I-95 or someplace like that... which is where I'll be traveling Friday and Saturday. Another busy wedding weekend coming up, so off to get it fixed tomorrow. Wish me luck! (I swear I get more flat tires than anyone I know!)

So after hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill (and some strawberry shortcake, too!) we ended the day with some early backyard fireworks because the rain was starting to come down hard, but it was fun and all the neighbors came out to watch so we really had a good time.

Pure Americana!! Hope everyone had an awesome day!

But wait.... there's more!

So I'm sitting in a little neighborhood bar Saturday afternoon... having a few drinks and some calamari.... just came from the beach...like they say, it don't get much better than that! Oh, should I add that I'm with about 20 people? Like the entire wedding party? lol Hey, we had a little time between wedding pictures and the reception so the bride and groom decided everyone should all head down to this little (and I do mean little) local bar! They were there the night before he proposed, which I thought was utterly romantic. Sigh! Anyhow, I will confess that my drinks were water, heck... there was still a whole lot of wedding pictures to do and I really didn't want to count on the auto focus!

Great stuff is happening!

Oh, I had to tell you that we have added some new talent to the business... first off is my daughter Krista, she's started editing some of the weddings that I've done and will be joining me for some shooting this summer as well. And Bruce's wife Laureen joined him in shooting a wedding this past weekend. Both of them have wicked good taste and know just what to look for in shooting and editing. Is that just so cool, or what?? I'd post their pics so you know who they are, but to be honest, I don't have any of them! I'm thinking we need to get some ultra cool TSD Photography shirts done, in black, of course!

We had a really busy weekend and haven't quite gotten to blogging the weddings yet, so watch for them in the next day or two... in the meantime, I was emailing to Bruce about this blogging stuff, seems to take me forever and then it comes out sounding.... um.... well, let's just say Bruce politely called it "stiff"!! Ha! Anyone who knows me knows that is soooo not me! But, ok... I admit that these blogs have been a little rigid and proper... and that is going to change!

Candice and Andrew

Summer's here!

My first wedding of the summer was this past Saturday at the Water's Edge Resort in Westbrook and it was just perfect! The weather was spectacular (loved it!) and the bride and groom were the best (loved them!) The bride slipped off her shoes and climbed over the rocks in her wedding dress so we could get a great shot with the water behind them...I think it came out great, check it out below. Lots of very fun people, I really think this wedding could have gone on throughout the night! Best wishes to Candi and Andy and thanks for letting me be part of your day!

Aimee & Joe

It's crazy busy now... lots of weddings and editing and really trying to get everyone's photographs done on time, so I won't write much right now... but I did want to post a few shots from the wedding on Saturday, it was beautiful! But don't take my word for it, check out the images below and see for yourself. Thank you to Aimee and Joe for letting me be part of your wedding, and thanks to Mrs. Nyles also for being so wonderful.

Marie and Weylin

A little while back I posted Marie and Weylin's engagement and the wedding was to be in December... but then the plans got changed because of his military obligations and they were married this past Sunday instead. I think it was incredible that they were able to get everything done with such short notice! The wedding and the reception were both held at the Seamen's Inne in Mystic and it was just beautiful. Even the rain held off so the ceremony could be outside by the water. I loved the ocean theme with the military touchs, it was perfect! Here's a few shots from the day... the slide show will be up in a few weeks!

Erin & Mike ( Take 1 )

Last week I did some traditional engagement photographs for my niece and her fiance, they are getting married in October! I'm really looking forward to the wedding, Bruce and I will do the photographs, but I get to be family too! Yay!! This session, as noted... is "Take 1" because I want to do some of them down by the beach when it warms up a bit. So watch for "Take 2" this summer and the wedding in the fall.

Congratulations Erin and Mike!

Courtney and Daniel

We had a great wedding on Saturday, even though it was rainy and wet, it really didn't matter a bit. We started out at the Millridge Manor in Moosup for the getting ready pictures, what a gorgeous place. As photographers, the backgrounds and surroundings are something we are constantly aware of, and these rooms were like out of a decorating magazine. Amazing.

So Bruce and I started there... got some awesome shots of Courtney getting ready, what a wonderful bride! Calm and happy, a real joy to work with! Check out some of the photographs below.... a truly beautiful bride.

Then we went off to the church for the ceremony, we had the pleasure of having another photographer join us there as well. Steven Russell who just happens to be 15 asked if he could shoot a wedding with us, and we thought, sure, why not! I'll be including some of his photos in the slide show to be posted later.

After the ceremony we went back to the Manor for the reception and dinner. Everything was wonderful, the meal, the cake (yummy!) and the guests were such fun! I don't think the dancing ever stopped.

Like I said before... I have the best couples and the best weddings!!

Jen and Jordan

I had a wedding in Mystic this past weekend and it was awesome! Isn't it crazy that we had that terrible storm last week and it even snowed and Saturday it was like Spring finally arrived, and everyone was enjoying it! There were a lot of people at the Seaport which just adds to the fun, especially when the bride and groom came through in their carriage, everyone just applauded and yelled their congratulations! What fun!!

Shared moments...

Jordan was a riot! The first time anyone has actually climbed up on those pilings, and that was before the ceremony!

I told the guys I wanted 'attitude'... they gave it to me!

The sweetest couple!

This one is for you Jen...

What an awesome smile!

The beautiful bride....

Thanks for letting me part of your wedding, everything was perfect! I'll see you soon!
