Sometimes we have a protein bar in the car on the way to the wedding, and sometimes... well... let's just say it doesn't get much better than this! Yes, it was as delicious as it looks... I have to say that the Seamen's Inne in Mystic knows how to do a lobster bake! Thanks to Becky and Gilbert for being so thoughtful. :)

Not your average wedding photographer!
Although Bruce broke the cardinal rule about photographing the photographer... here's a shot of yours truly at work before Alise and Jim's wedding. :)
For many years, before I decided to take my wedding photography business full time, I was a professional bridal seamstress, working at some of the best shops in CT. So whenever I see one of those little hook & eye things not done on a dress, I'm there to take care of it! Old habits die hard.
But really, it's about the details and making sure everyone is taken care of on the wedding day so things go smoothly. From helping dress the bride to pinning boutonnieres, we're there to help, in addition to capturing some simply awesome images of the day. :) So I'm proud of the fact that we are not your average wedding photographers! (And never will be!)

Saturday's Wedding!
Darcy and James got married Saturday! :) They are just the best couple and I enjoyed being there at the wedding so much. Actually, I should say this was more than just a wedding of two people, it was four! Elizabeth and AJ are great kids and you can see that this was such a special day for them too. I wanted to make sure I got a sneak peek up for them before school got out and they leave on their honeymoon. Enjoy!
Hey... guys... guys?? Did you see that's the Amistad? Oh, never mind. :)
Thanks for letting me be a part of your day and making me feel like a friend. All the best to you always and see you soon!

Something new!
I just posted a new slide show on the website for Mary and Marty, check it out when you get a chance! :)
Just for fun!
Bruce and I shoot a lot of weddings together and it's always a blast! And sometimes...actually a lot of times... when I'm going through the photographs from the wedding... I see that we get the same shots and sometimes... like with these... I just start laughing!

Hot, Hot, Hot!
Remember back when you were a kid and it didn't much matter how hot it was because you could always run through the sprinkler, take a dip in the wading pool and wait for the ice cream truck to come by? I guess you can still do all that, but it just doesn't seem to be as much fun!! LOL
Hey! Someone stole my coffee coolata!!
These are from last year... but I'm thinking that popsicle looks really good right about now! Stay cool and enjoy the day...

Classics in Lego
I could not help but post this here, a very creative photo set on Flickr by UK photographer Mike Stimpson. Some really cool recreations of famous photographs in LEGOS! Yep, Legos ;) Cool stuff.
Enjoy!

Raindrops keep falling on my head
I woke up at 5:30 this morning and it was pouring rain! Agh!! One, I don't wake up at 5:30 and two, enough with the rain already! (yes, I know it's supposed to be record breaking heat by tomorrow, yuck! ) But I had scheduled a mommy and son photo shoot out at the park at 10 today and it wasn't looking good. I checked the radar on the computer, it look terrible... but by 9:30 it seemed almost like the sun wanted to come out! Yay! So we started shooting and then it started raining, and then it started raining harder! But I think we got some great shots in the 15 minutes we had! I do love shooting fast, and this time it paid off big time!
How can you not smile seeing this little guy? :)

Rebecca & Gilbert
The weather was perfect, the location was wonderful and the couple was absolutely fabulous, a real storybook wedding, but with a little twist. Meet Rebecca and Gilbert, married (again) this past Memorial Day weekend. Rebecca actually lives in Virginia and Gilbert now lives in North Carolina... they got married (again) in Mystic, Connecticut! So why am I saying (again)? Because they first got married in Fiji earlier this year, is that cool or what?? :)
Rebecca showed me the photographs they had of the first wedding, and I have to say, I'm going to get a passport so maybe I can get to do a wedding in Fiji someday!! They had a slide show of the ceremony in Fiji so all the guests could enjoy it. I think everyone was awestruck by the beauty of the island and by the bride and groom too.
So even though a cannon went off during the processional and some bagpipes played elsewhere, the wedding was picture perfect and it just couldn't have been any better.
After the ceremony, as we walked around the Seaport taking some photographs, all the little girls thought Rebecca was a princess and Gilbert was a prince... it was just the most fun to see their little faces in awe when they saw them. I hope you enjoy some of the preview images that are posted here, and watch for the slide show coming soon, too.
I love this shot! The Seaport was in it's glory with all the boats and flags, and now you understand why Gilbert is currently living in North Carolina.
I love the look on her face... it says it all....
Isn't that light just perfect? What a day, I wish they were all like that!
My favorite spot, the lobster pots!
Maybe not quite as warm as Fiji? lol
Thank you so much for letting us be part of your day, it was just perfect and we wish you all the love and happiness in the world.

Typos!
A big thank you to everyone who let me know that I had a bad typo on the previous post. lol It took me hours to do that yesterday because of getting used to all the new programs and stuff, I read it about a dozen times and it looked great...then I got an email from our quality control department (Bruce) to let me know the mistake!! OMG! Sorry Kasey & Jeremy!! It's all fixed now, thank goodness! :)

Alise & Jim
Where to even start talking about this wedding! First off, let's just say that when we walked in the door we were welcomed like old friends, it was such a joy for us to be there! We first met Alise when she was a bridesmaid when her friend Christine married Tony almost 2 years ago. (One of our all time favorite couples!!) This is an awesome group of friends so we were really looking forward to shooting the wedding for Alise and Jim! Then when Alise told me all the details of the day, I knew it was going to be fantastic!
Okay... here's some of my favorites from the day, there are hundreds and hundreds more too!! :)
Gorgeous shoes!! With like 4 inch heels and they were walking on grass!
Awesome wedding party shot! (and yes, we do the traditional shots too)
Sorry Bruce... the things I make you do! :)
But such a cool shot!!
My favorite shots... the bride and groom alone for a few moments... no words needed.
The dancing was a Wow!! Check out the dip!!
Christine and Tony!
Kasey and Jeremy! We can't wait to see you again when you get married in September! (What a beautiful smile!)
OMG, these are just too good! I think they are illegal in most states???
You guys are just the best!! Congratulations and thank you for letting us be part of your day! Talk to you soon!

Yippee!!
The new logo is all done with thanks to Trisha at www.orangegeckodesigns.com I love the way it came out! Also started posting my blogs on Live Writer so we can have Bigger Photos in our postings!! I'm really psyched about that! A few more little tweaks and then I'll be all set.
Check back to see some great stuff from last weekend... I can't begin to pick which shots to blog!! :)
